A San Antonio construction company has won a contract to build a new office structure at Fort Sam Houston.

Davila Construction received an $8.3 million contract to build the solider family assistance center at the Warrior in Transition Complex at the Army installation.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is managing the contract. Warrior in Transition Complexes are designed to provide temporary housing for soldiers who are injured while fighting overseas.

Each complex consists of barracks, an administrative building and a soldier family assistance center. Soldier family assistance centers are designed to help recuperating soldiers make the transition to self sufficiency with the help of their families.

Davila should complete the work on the project by May 2011.
