Possible Worldwide has shuttered its downtown Austin office.
Possible Worldwide’s 16th-floor offices in the Capitol Tower on Ninth Street are nearly vacant, and its signage has been removed. According to a neighbor, the agency will be completely out of the building on Jan. 13.
Communications giant WPP Group formed Possible Worldwide about one year ago. Possible Worldwide’s New York office did not immediately return a call seeking comment, but the Austin office appears to be the only closed location.
The Austin office was founded by Schematic, a digital agency.
The Austin agency, which focused on serving Dell Inc. and Reliant Energy , had been dwindling for months. It went from roughly 45 employees in Austin last spring to a crew of 15 to 20 people in the last few weeks, according to a local advertising professional familiar with the agency.
The closure of Possible Worldwide’s Austin office is likely connected to the loss of some Dell-related work. WPP created an agency dedicated to Dell, called Enfatico.
