The New York architecture firm responsible for such Houston landmarks as Williams Tower, Bank of America Center and Pennzoil Plaza has selected Houston for its second U.S. office.
Philip Johnson/Alan Ritchie Architects sees an opportunity to rejuvenate and improve operating efficiencies in many Houston buildings, Alan Ritchie said in a prepared statement. Ritchie has been partners in the firm with Johnson, who retired in 2004, for more than 25 years.
Marko Dasigenis, a partner with Philip Johnson/Alan Ritchie Architects, is leading the Houston office. Dasigenis worked for Johnson in New York in the 1980s. He later spent time at Houston-based Ziegler Cooper Architects and started his own firm, Opsis Architecture, which last year was folded into Philip Johnson/Alan Ritchie Architects.
The well known architecture firm also has a registered office in Athens, Greece, as well as other strategic partnerships.
Robert Sakowitz, president and CEO of Hazak Corp., is assisting the local Philip Johnson/Alan Ritchie office with business development and marketing. Sakowitz was chairman and CEO of the local Sakowitz clothing chain, which is no longer in operation.
