Contracts filed for future noncommercial construction in February fell 20 percent, according to a new report from McGraw-Hill Construction, a company that releases construction activity each month.
Contracts for future construction on nonresidential projects had a total value of $257.9 million in 12 North Texas counties, down 20 percent from $323.9 million a year earlier during the same period.
The counties included are Collin, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise.
During the same month, contracts filed for future construction on residential contracts jumped 58 percent over last year, valued at $415.2 million, up from $262.5 million.
