Scentsy Inc. announced Tuesday it will open a new 150,000-square-foot distribution facility in Coppell to serve the south central United States and it plans to hire 190 new workers.
The Idaho-based home fragrance company plans to open the facility at 500 Freeport Pkwy. in Coppell this month. It will handle about 27 percent of Scentsy's orders in the U.S. by the end of 2011 and will reduce shipping times to customers, officials said.
The company sells more Scentsy products in Texas than any other state and the Coppell facility will serve that consumer base, President Heidi Thompson said.
Scentsy has other U.S. distribution facilities in Idaho and Kentucky. It also has a facility in Poland to serve its European customers.
Carlos Auces is the facility's shipping manager and will oversee the distribution center. He has been with the company for nearly three years, officials said.
