NASA has selected two Houston firms among five companies chosen for contract awards under a $400 million solicitation to perform large general construction projects.
The work will be performed at NASA's Johnson Space Center, Ellington Field, the Sonny Carter Training Facility, all in Houston, and the White Sands Test Facility in New Mexico.
The five selected firms include: J.T. Vaughn Construction LLC and Skanska USA Building, both of Houston; Hensel Phelps Construction Co. of Austin; Swinerton Builders of Arvada, Colo.; and Kiewit Building Group of Arlington, Va.
The firms will provide general construction services, including limited design-build capability, modification, repair and demolition for multiple unrelated large projects during the five-year contracts. There are no options included.
