Mission Trail Baptist Hospital is set to open on June 27 and will be part of a larger medical campus, located at Brooks City-Base.
One of the anchors of that campus, the Mission Trail Medical Plaza office building, has one of its first tenants, the San Antonio Orthopaedic Group
.
The San Antonio Orthopaedic Group has had a presence on the South Side for eight years, with a 6,500 square-foot clinic. The new location will be more than three times that size.
Chris Kean, chief operations officer for the group, says the larger clinic will allow the practice to “better serve more patients and offer quicker appointments for specialized complex care.”
The new site will also allow the health practice to grow its geographic coverage capabilities in an expanding area of the city.
Brooks City-Base is located near the intersection of S.E. Military Drive and Interstate 37. It is the site of the former Brooks Air Force Base.
The San Antonio Orthopaedic Group was established in 1947. Its board-certified surgeons treat a full range of musculoskeletal disorders, diseases and injuries.
