Los Angeles-based Thomas Properties Group was hired to manage the downtown Austin Centre — a 16-story, Class A office building at 701 Brazos St.
The company is among the most significant property owners, managers and developers in Austin. It was ranked 7th largest developer and sixth largest manager in the Austin Business Journal's 2011 Book of Lists.
The Austin Centre deal closely follows a similar arrangement for leasing at the 20-story, Class A 816 Congress Ave. building, also downtown. Both buildings are wholly owned by an affiliate of New York-based Lehman Holdings Inc. Lehman partners with Thomas on five other downtown Austin properties.
Lead tenants at Austin Centre include NetSpend Corp., Smiley Media and law firm Thompson, Coe, Cousins and Irons LLP.
Thomas Properties managed 3.58 million square feet of Austin office space as of January 2011.
