CyrusOne has broken ground on a 92,000-square-foot data center being built adjacent to its Houston West Data Center.
The Houston-based enterprise data center collocation provider is seeking LEED Silver sustainability certification on the expansion project.
When the new building is completed in the third quarter of this year, the Houston West Data Center will have a total of 188,000 square feet of space.
David Ferdman, CEO of CyrusOne, said the expansion was prompted by a significant number of customer installations in 2010, largely driven by the energy sector.
CyrusOne has 18 facilities nationwide and in London.
