DeSoto plans to build a new heliport for private and commercial use.
The DeSoto Economic Development Corp. bought 18.7 acres of raw land for the project at the corner of East Danieldale Road and Kestrel Avenue. The heliport will be minutes away from the intersection of I-20 and Hampton Road.
Dallas-based Henry S. Miller Brokerage LLC, which represented DeSoto in the acquisition, announced the deal Monday.
The city has not established dates for building and opening the heliport.
Randall Levingston, the DeSoto EDC interim executive director, said the heliport will spur development and expansion in the city.
Dallas-based commercial real estate firm NAI Robert Lynn represented the land’s previous owner, Mahan Investment.
