he Dallas-Fort Worth area was the third-best market in 2009 for companies that wanted to either build new or expand their existing corporate facilities, Site Selection magazine said Wednesday.
Site Selection magazine, a publication that covers corporate real estate and economic development, evaluated the Dallas region’s corporate recruiting success in a 12-county region.
Last year, Dallas-Fort Worth was selected by 135 companies as the site of either a corporate expansion or relocation, the publication said.
Some of the new or expanded corporate facilities in the D-FW area last year included Advanced H2O, Alcon, Cisco, Coaire Corp., Kohler and Q-Edge.
The top-ranking regions are judged as long as they attract facilities that come with at least a $1 million capital investment and the creation of 50 or more jobs and the leasing and/or building of 20,000 square feet or more. Dallas-Fort Worth was topped only by New York and Chicago.
