Caterpillar equipment and engine dealer HOLT CAT has opened a new 22,000 square foot training and support center on San Antonio’s East Side that will house up to 100 employees.
HOLT took over the site of a former Pep Boys location at 1956 South W.W. White Road for the new location, which had been vacant for nearly seven years. The facility was previously located at Brooks City Base. More than 60 employees representing HOLT’s development training, payroll, financial services, IT development and purchasing departments have relocated to the new center. The facility is large enough to accommodate 40 more.
“We are very excited to open this new facility,” says Peter M. Holt, CEO of HOLT CAT. “We wanted to maintain a strong presence on San Antonio’s East Side and contribute to the economic growth occurring here.”
The training and support center has been equipped with eight conference rooms with 3,100 square feet of training/meeting space and state-of-the-art environmental design features. HOLT invested in a 59.28 kilowatt solar panel system and will bring on board additional panels on the few months that will bring the system’s total to 103 kilowatts. HOLT will seek Silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification on the new facility.
