Local firms C.H. Guenther & Son Inc. and R.L. Worth & Associates on Jan. 19 will officially kick off work on a multimillion dollar joint-venture project known as the Bakery on Broadway.
The project will entail redeveloping the former Butterkrust Bakery at 2201 Broadway into a multi-tenant office property.
C.H. Guenther — which produces various baked goods and seasoning mixes — will anchor the project.
The company has inked a lease to occupy 53,952 square feet of space, which will include a new research and development facility and the company’s new corporate headquarters. R.L. Worth will also lease out the portion of the building not occupied by C.H. Guenther — 53,692 square of Class A multi-tenant office space. The total cost for the project is $23.4 million.
The project is scheduled for completion in early January 2012 and is expected to boost the already burgeoning Broadway corridor just north of downtown.
