Dallas-based Holliday Fenoglio Fowler LP is opening a multi-housing, investment-targeted office in Austin.
Executive Managing Director Jody Thornton was appointed to lead the Austin expansion, and Senior Managing Director Sean Sorrell will head the office. The firm has serviced clients in Austin since 1980, but did not have an office here until now.
Sorrell previously co-founded and served as chief investment officer of Montecito Investment Co., a multi-family property acquisition company. He also helped form Montecito Medical Investment Co., which develops and consolidates health care related assets.
In Sorrell's 25 years of real estate experience, he also worked at CB Richard Ellis as a senior vice president handling multi-housing investment sales and as an RTC asset management contractor. He earned his BBA in finance from the University of Texas and is a licensed real estate broker in Texas.
Holliday Fenoglio Fowler LP and HFF Securities LP are owned by HFF Inc. (NYSE: HF). The company operates 18 offices nationwide and provides commercial real estate and capital markets services.
