Kansas City Southern Railway Co. has purchased 28.3 acres of land northeast of Spring Creek Parkway and Centennial Drive in Wylie to incorporate into its existing rail yard. The purchase price was not disclosed.
The acreage is the last remaining tract of raw land with heavy industrial zoning in the area that Kansas City Southern does not own, said Tom Grunnah, vice president of the Henry S. Miller Brokerage Dallas-Fort Worth Land Division.
Grunnah represented the seller, Pooran LP, and negotiated the sale with Andrew Ward and Terry Darrow of commercial real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle, which represented Kansas City Southern.
"It's a logical buy for them to fill out the rest of their property there," Grunnah said. "It will help them as they move forward with future development of that location."
