The San Antonio office of Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Inc. has won contracts to build two new Wal-Mart Supercenters in Corpus Christi.
Construction on the new stores will begin this month. Satterfield & Pontikes expects the stores will be completed next summer.
Satterfield & Pontikes will build a new $11.6 million, 182,203-square-foot Wal-Mart Supercenter on the site of the former Parkdale Plaza.
The company will also build a 149,969-square-foot store on Saratoga Boulevard at a cost of about $12.5 million.
Work will include completing the structural steel and masonry, earthwork, asphalt and concrete paving, walks, interior finishes and accessories, fire sprinkler systems, refrigeration equipment, plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems.
Satterfield & Pontikes has experience building or renovating more than 25 Wal-Mart Supercenters. These projects exceed $150 million in development costs and comprise more than 5.5 million square feet of space.
