Hyatt Hotels & Resorts is backing up the notion that everything’s bigger in Texas.

The company has opened a new Hyatt Place in Sugar Land, the largest Hyatt Place property built to date.

The 214-room hotel is the 21st Hyatt Place opened by the company in Texas, with more than 150 nationwide.

The property, at 16730 Creek Bend Dr., also has more than 4,000 square feet of meeting/function space and the Lakeside pavilion with 2,000 feet of function space. Construction of the property was overseen by Woodbine Development Corp.

Michael Gleeson is the Sugar Land hotel’s general manager.
