SunBelt Investment Partners I LP has so far raised $31.1 million for a private equity fund from 16 investors, according to a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The filing states that the firm is looking to raise a total of $100 million.
San Antonio-based SunBelt is a privately held commercial real estate investment company that was formed in November 2008 to make suburban-area real estate investments in Texas and the “Sun Belt” region.
The SunBelt Investment Partners I fund targets assets in the range of $2 million to $25 million, according to its Web site.
The fund has purchased a number of local properties, including 14.8 acres of land on San Antonio’s far North Side at the northwest corner of Stone Oak Parkway and Canyon Golf Road; 50 acres of land at University Oaks and Loop 1604 on the city’s North Side; and 3.3 acres of land at the northeast corner of UTSA Boulevard and IH-10 West access road.
Calls to the firm seeking further comment were not immediately returned.
