The Salvation Army has opened a new Mission Corps location on San Antonio’s South Side.
The new location at 3802 S.W. Military Drive will provide numerous services, such as an afterschool program, youth development, special events, senior program, church programs, a game room, a computer lab, a fitness room, and men’s and women’s ministries.
An opening celebration was held at the new site on Monday, Oct. 25.
The Salvation Army provides food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children.
About 83 cents of every dollar raised is used to support those services in nearly 9,000 communities nationwide.
