AmREIT Inc. is demolishing and rebuilding the Randalls store as part of the redevelopment of the Woodlake Square Shopping Center.

The re-opening of the redeveloped shopping center, located at the intersection of Westheimer and Gessner, is slated for early 2011.

The existing Randalls will be replaced with a larger “lifestyle” format store which showcases service departments such as floral, produce, deli, bakery, meat and seafood and emphasizes perishable products and prepared foods.

The new Randalls will be built approximately 100 feet further north than the existing store to create more customer parking.

Meanwhile, the Randalls pharmacy and the Wells Fargo branch have been temporarily relocated to another building in the shopping center.

In addition, Jos. A Banks will move to a new building in the shopping center and its existing building will be replaced with a Randalls fuel station.

Walgreens will remain in its current location, which will be refurbished.

Charles Scoville and Ron Lindsey of Houston-based AmREIT Realty Investment Corp. represented the landlord in the lease negotiations with Randalls.
