Web retailer Medwing.com Inc. is consolidating its two Austin offices into one 29,600-square-foot space in the Tuscany Center 7 at Walnut Creek.
The industrial facility near the intersection of Highways 290 and 183 was developed by Lowe Enterprises and McShane Development Co. The space includes loading docks with 40-foot bays, six interior truck docks and one drive-in door. Medwing is using about 4,200 square feet for office space and the remaining for distribution operations.
All together, the Tuscany Center houses 72,000 square feet of warehouse and distribution space in a "triple freeport zone," which allows businesses to skip taxes on inventory that leaves the state within 175 days.
Medwing, founded in 2002, specializes in personal care products like air purifiers. The company currently works from office space downtown on Brazos Street and from a 12,000-square-foot warehouse at 8606 Wall Street. It will make the move later this year.
Chris Skyles of SkylesBayne Co. represented Medwing.com in the six-year lease and Will Nichols and Daniel Farrar of Stream Realty represented the developers. TAG International is providing design/build services.
