The total value of contracts for future construction on non-residential projects in North Texas fell 51 percent in June, when compared to June 2009, according to a report from McGraw-Hill Construction.
Contracts for future commercial projects were valued at $306.6 million, down from $626 million a year earlier.
The value of new contracts on future residential construction dropped 12 percent in June, hitting $464.8 million, down from $530.8 million in June 2009.
The study tallied contracts filed in Collin, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise counties.
