Austin Manufacturing Services, or AMS, has leased 45,360 square feet in North Austin, according to brokers who worked on the deal.
AMS, which handles a variety of technology manufacturing, is moving from a 60,000-square-foot facility on 9715 A Burnet Road it shared with another company to the North Tech Business Center 5 at 4616 West Howard Lane.
AMS had a smaller space in the facility on Burnet Road that it shared with a former sister company that ended up moving to Pflugerville. AMS needed more space than its portion of the Burnet Road site as it was growing so it moved to a larger space at the North Tech site, said Neil Ashley, AMS’ vice president of corporate development.
Now in its 15th year, AMS provides a broad range of manufacturing services, including: power management systems, energy systems, oil field instrumentation, transportation/automotive, consumer recreation, RF systems, GPS navigation systems, MPU based control systems, mobile devices, as well as datacom/telecom, personal and server computing systems.
Dan Steakley of Stanberry Commercial Realtors represented the tenant. Andy Thomas and Ace Schlameus from HPI Real Estate Services represented the owner. The company has already moved into the North Tech site, Ashley said.
