Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP has relocated its office from one downtown building to another.
The global law firm has leased 41,410 square feet in First City Tower at 1001 Fannin.
The firm relocated its Houston office to the 37th and 38th floors of First City Tower in early June. Sutherland formerly leased about 35,000 square feet in 909 Fannin, according to Chip Colvill of Colvill Office Properties.
Chip Colvill and Michael Anderson of Colvill Office Properties represented the landlord, FC Tower Property Partners LP, an affiliate of JMB Realty of Chicago, in lease negotiations.
Kevin Snodgrass of Cushman & Wakefield of Houston, represented Sutherland.
First City Tower is a 1.3 million-square-foot, 49-story office building occupying one city block bounded by Fannin, McKinney, San Jacinto and Lamar streets in Houston’s central business district. With the Sutherland lease, First City Tower is 92 percent leased.
Other major tenants include Waste Management, Vinson & Elkins, EnerVest Management Partners, Liskow & Lewis, Black Stone Minerals Company, RBC Wealth Management, Raymond James & Associates, Morris Architects, Whitney Bank and the Houston Bar Association.
First City Tower is managed by CB Richard Ellis.
JMB Realty and its affiliated entities own, develop and manage real estate, including regional shopping malls, hotels, planned communities and office complexes, throughout North America.
Sutherland has approximately 425 attorneys working in offices in Atlanta, Austin, Houston, London New York, and Washington D.C.
