FedEx Corp. is establishing a new distribution facility to service its home delivery business in Southeast Houston.
More than 250 employees are expected to work at the facility when it opens in October.
FedEx leased nearly 147,000 square feet for the facility at Ellington Trade Center — a 50-acre industrial project at 12554 Highway 3 across from Ellington Field.
KDC and Harbert Management Corp. developed the three-building, 513,000-square-feet center. Other tenants in the complex include Goodman Distribution Inc. and the Houston Chronicle.
John Ferruzzo, Griff Bandy and Jon Michael of NAI Houston represented KDC on the FedEx lease, which has been in the works for about 18 months.
The tenant was represented by Kirk Bittel, who works for Fischer & Co. in Pittsburgh.
