A Texas affiliate of Kisco Senior Living has closed escrow on the Villa de San Antonio senior living complex in San Antonio.
KSL Texas Communities SA LLC, an entity owned by Carlsbad, Calif.-based Kisco, bought Villa de San Antonio as part of its national expansion plans. Villa de San Antonio operates 114 independent living apartment units, 55 assisted living apartment units and 24 cottage homes.
“We’ve identified Texas as a growth area and are pleased to become part of the San Antonio community,” says Andy Kohlberg, founder and president of Kisco Senior Living.
Kohlberg and his staff have begun meeting with local residents to learn how best to serve them. Kisco will introduce the company’s wellness program at the property and will expand community services. A number of the employees who previously worked for Villa de San Antonio have made the transition to Kisco.
Kisco is a private, family owned business that has been in operation since 1990. Since then, Kisco has grown to include 19 senior communities in six states. The company owns more than 3,000 units for independent living, assisted living and Alzheimer’s Care. The company has 1,400 employees nationwide.
