Elliott’s Hardware has put its Dallas location at 4901 Maple Ave. up for sale, the company’s president Kyle Walters said Wednesday.
The small retail chain, which was founded in the late 1940s, is hoping to move to a smaller Dallas location, Walters said. The current 75,000-square-foot location on Maple Avenue has a taxable value of about $3.5 million, according to the Dallas Central Appraisal District Web site.
Walters said Elliott’s two other locations in Plano and Garland will not be affected by the sale.
The property includes 4.5 acres of land and will be offered in the $7 million price range, said Newt Walker with Newt Walker Co., who has the property listing.
Because of the store's proximity to Parkland, Walker said he believes the buyer may be an educational or medical facility. However, he's not ruling out the possibility that a large retailer may also want to snap up the property.
